Although
most trips depart Placencia or Monkey River Village to journey
up the Monkey River in pursuit of a glimpse of the infamous Howler
monkeys, the river itself would be worth the visit. For it winds
up towards the Maya Mountains with lush vegetation on both sides
and a large variety of fauna alongside. Especially for bird watches,
professional or not so knowledgabe, a trip up the monkey river
