There
used to be a fishing camp but it is closed now. The nearest village
is Punta Negra, it lies half a mile to the north and has barely
more than thirty inhabitants. The beach I am talking about is
the coast near the Punta Negra Lagoon and the Yacacos Lagoon.
There is simply nothing - for many miles and in all directions.
With vast land protected as a natural reserve in the back, this
beach will probably and hopefully remain so for quite some time.
Reachable only by boat, about fifty minutes from Punta Gorda in
the Toledo district it sure is worth a visit as there are few
places left like this.
