One
might wonder why Placencia is so popular with tourist of all budgets
and real estate investors alike. Well although the people on the
peninsula are some of the nicest in Belize, undoubtedly it is
still its beaches that made the peninsula so famous.
When
Hurricane Iris swept across the peninsula in October 2001, it
displaced some of the older houses and tore out most of the large
palm trees that used to cover the sands. Now, three years later,
everything is rebuilt, better than before, new trees have been
planted and are growing daily.
Whether
you prefer a busy village or a tranquil surrounding, the beaches
along the Placencia Peninsula are hands down some of the best
in the country of Belize!
