I first met Oscar at the bakery on Front Street, when I was looking for some early morning breakfast for my son. When I discovered that the bakery only featured a few pieces of cake, orange juice and coffee, Oscar quickly explained that he was no baker, "No, I am drum maker, and I try to get this recording studio off the ground". 'Rosewood End of the Line Recording' on Front Street in Punta Gorda, Toledo, Belize, is open for all local artist to record their music. Three friends, Oscar, Henry and Charles can always be found there at the open doors of the 'Bakery' on Front Street.

Henry the Third Genus Martinez has played in Europe and Guatemala and is currently writing songs to protest the cruelty against animals. Henry plays his guitar and sings "...don't beat my puppy dog..." and his teenage son, who stops by on the way to school, joins the song, doing his part howling like a beat dog.

Charles, also known as 'Congo Charlie' has a farm in San Antonio, Toledo. He comes to Punta Gorda three times per week on the local village bus to sell fruit or little tree seedlings. Congo Charley was reportedly the first man with dreadlocks in Belize City - twenty-five years ago, when it was outlawed to wear the Rastafarian hair dress.

Henry's music is Brok Down, Reggae, Ska and Nayhabinge, Oscar's is R n' B, Caribbean, and Drum & Bass.

When I reached Front Street with my camera for the photo op with the three musicians, brother Charles had just left town and travelled north with his harmonica to play the Blues in L.A
