To connect with Severo, just ask for him at your hotel on Ambergris Caye or at one of the numerous tour outfitters in San Pedro. Or, wander off the 'beaten path' in San Pedro village to Back Street and ask around until you find his home, right there on the edge of the island, facing the mainland.

With numerous fishing rods to choose from, Severo and I set out one afternoon to try our luck off the coast of Ambergris Caye. At the beginning I only caught a few 'yellow tail' because I was too slow with the rod, Severo gave me some tips and suddenly the fish were biting quicker than I could have imagined. I actually could not get the fish off the hooks quick enough...trigger fish and a small barracuda until Severo advised jokingly: "Let's leave some for tomorrow. If you catch them all today, I won't have a job tomorrow". Anyhow, as the sun set over Ambergris Caye, I was still frying up yellow tail and trigger fish.
